Lom Kao (Thai: หล่มเก่า) is the northernmost district (Amphoe) of Phetchabun Province, northern Thailand.
The first record of Mueang Lom found in the first King Ram Khamhaeng the Great the Great stone pillar. In Rattanakosin era, this area was a big community of Lao people from Vientiane. When the town population grew due to further immigration from Luang Phrabang and Vientiane, the governor lead people to establish a new town near the Pa Sak river, now in the Lom Sak district.
Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Dan Sai and Phu Ruea of Loei Province and Nam Nao, Lom Sak and Khao Kho of Phetchabun Province.
The district is subdivided into 9 subdistricts (tambon), which are further subdivided into 98 villages (muban). The township (thesaban tambon) of Lom Kao covers part of the tambon Lom Kao. There are further 9 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).
